Ayurveda Reinterpreted: Perfect solutions for the Premium Spa

posted in: Ayurveda 1

AYURVEDA is derived from two words, ayur and veda. ” Ayur is Union of the mind, body, senses and soul. Veda is science or knowledge”. Ayurveda therapies bring you harmony – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. An ancient Indian science that is today being recognized globally as the recipes for “ultimate wellness from within ”. The SPA experience today is regarded as the ultimate wellness retreat- where we get lost in an absolute way to discover ourselves in all aspects- mental elevation, physical invigoration, spiritual rejuvenation…And when the mind and body is balanced, there is ultimate beauty that comes from within.

Today’s trend is to look at Ayurveda through a different perspective. It is now not uncommon that Indian Ayurveda treatments are being adopted for Spas, along with the more established Spa treatments. The products used at premium Spas today are a healthy mix of the modern and the ancient, of indigenous and global products. It is recognized today that Indian Ayurvedic products offer long-term effective treatments and are being appreciated by today’s spa-going customer. Those earlier looking for only International products and treatments are today switching to Ayurvedic herb-based recipes that give long-term results. However, a modern consumer visiting a Spa does not necessarily think of a Spa therapy as a ‘medical treatment’, and it is important to understand this subtle difference.

At  Sadatan,  a range of  Ayurvedic preparations are made exactly the way nature intended them to be – secret recipes from old ayurvedic textbooks that enhance youth & beauty. Our aim is to present the benefits of these recipes to the contemporary consumer, keeping their aesthetic sensibilities and convenience in mind. We have reinterpreted Ayurveda for the modern day consumer- with effective treatments presented in an appealing way. For example, our adaptation of Keshvardhak Taila into a Hair Masque 11 Ayurvedic herbs from the Keshavardhak recipe are blended with a cream base to create a powerful hair conditioner and reviatiliser, that is effective and convenient to use.

Haritkyadi Taila is an ancient Ayurvedic Recipe to reduce Cellulite. Regular use of this oil breaks down fatty deposits under the skin that cause unsightly sponginess and unevenness, it guards against cellulite, adiposities and “orange dimpled skin”. This recipe contains herbs like Gotukola, Kankushta and Haritaki that work in perfect synergy. We have also adapted this recipe into an aqueous Gel and a Balm. As a Spa therapy, this works beautifully, where a regular oil massage can be done at a Spa, and one can complement that by using the Gel or the Balm at home to create a powerful treatment that has long lasting benefits, without expecting the customer to

Similarly, we have been inspired by Ayurveda recipes to create several products and therapies for Spas, like traditional ubtan’s and oils that have been incorporated into Spa therapies and Salts and Floral Extracts that are used in our innovative Foot Soak Fizzies. Similarly, classic Ayurveda Abhyanga oils have been blended with specially derived Fractionated Coconut Oil to make them lighter, and a just a hint of custom blended Essential Oils, helps mask the top note of the base oil, a perfect synergy of Ayurveda and Spa.
